The African Movie Academy Awards 2019 nominees were announced in a glitzy ceremony in Lagos, Nigeria on October 27, 2019.

The Africa Movie Academy Awards, popularly known as AMAA and The AMA Awards, are presented annually to recognize excellence among professionals working in, or non-African professionals who have contributed to, the African film industry. First held in 2005, the awards are aimed at honouring and promoting excellence in the African movie industry as well as uniting the African continent through arts.

The 2019 shortlist was announced on September 18 with winners to be revealed in October.

The winners of the AMAA Awards for 2019 are;

  • Best Achievement in Costume DesignMercy of the Jungle (Rwanda)
  • Best Achievement in Make-UpMercy of the Jungle (Rwanda)
  • Best Achievement in SoundtrackMabata Bata (Mozambique)
  • Best Achievement in Visual EffectsThe Delivery Boy (Nigeria)
  • NFVCB Award For Best Nigerian FilmKing of Boys
