Mayra Andrade’s voice carries with it the history and passion of the islands of Cape Verde. She was born in Cuba, and grew up in Senegal, Angola and Germany, but spent several months of each year on the Cape Verdean island of Santiago -renowned for its variety of entrancing musical styles.
